About Us

the scriptures

We believe in the Bible as the inerrant and infallible Word of God. By inerrant we mean that it is "without error". With over 5,500+ Greek manuscripts of the New Testament and through textual criticism, we believe our Bibles today are not corrupted and we have confidence that we have what the biblical authors wrote. We believe in the 66 books (39 in the Old and 27 in the New Testament) as divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit. We believe that God cannot lie and therefore the words in these books are true and every verse is profitable for teaching. Because of either historical inaccuracies or contradiction of previous revelation, we do not accept any other writings as divine.  We do not believe any other translation of the Bible is more divine than another.

The Church

We believe whoever has been born-again by putting their faith in Jesus Christ is part of the church. We do not believe that there is only one organization that holds the authority to call themselves the one true church. Because of this, we believe that while Christians may differ on certain theological positions, we are all united by belief in the biblical Christ and His atoning work on the cross. Whether we baptize by immersion or sprinkling, believe in certain spiritual gifts today or not, we all share the common experience of being saved by Jesus Christ, making up what Paul calls "the Body" in the New Testament.

Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ has eternally existed as the Son of God, equal in divinity with the Father and the Spirit. While never losing His divinity, He took on a human body, lived a sinless life, was condemned under Pontius Pilate, was nailed to a cross, died, was buried and rose to life again 3 days later according to the Bible. While on the cross Jesus suffered the penalty for the sins of the world so that whoever may come to Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Today, Jesus Christ is in His resurrected body making intercession for the saints today, and we are expectantly waiting His return to make all things new.

We believe that Jesus is not our eldest spiritual brother, nor did He ascend to his divine status. Jesus was more than our example for eternal progression but rather He stood in our place when living on this earth in righteousness and dying for sin. All He asks is for someone to believe in Him for eternal life and He will give it to them.

Salvation

Jesus claims that anyone who comes to Him for rest and eternal life, He will give it to them freely through faith in His promise alone. We believe that we are saved by believing Jesus' promise to give those eternal life and citizenship in heaven through believing in Him to do it. Jesus saves sinners through His perfect life, his death on the cross that paid for sin, and his resurrection. In short: Believe in Jesus, have eternal life.

We believe that no amount of good works can add to our justification before God and Jesus' death doesn't make up the difference of our sin debt. He pays it in full. Scripture says our righteous deeds are like filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6) and that none is good but God (Mark 10:18). We cannot possibly reach heaven through our own efforts but by faith in the power of Jesus Christ.

This truly is a love that so loved the world.

MISSION

The MISSION

Our mission as Came Unto Christ is to preach the true good news of Jesus Christ found in the Bible to the Latter-day Saint population. We aim to inform both Mormons and Christians alike about the differences between the two religions and why we do not believe the teachings of the LDS Church.

We believe that Christianity (as preserved before Joseph Smith's "restoration") is the only true worldview. Because of this we aim to demonstrate its truthfulness and Mormonism's falsity through good history, philosophy, theology and science.

We love the Latter-day Saints and will relentlessly pursue them in love with the good news of eternal life through faith alone in Jesus Christ.
